Name: The Wave PicturesTrack name: I Could Hear The Telephone (3 Floors Above Me)

Hometown: Hugh Noble, Leicestershire

Who? David Tattersall (vocals and guitar), Franic Rozycki (bass guitar) and Jonny Helm (drums). Plus for one album only Billy Childish

Why now? Here’s the premiere of the trio’s new video for the single from forthcoming album Great Big Flamingo Burning Moon (out 16 February) which was made with the band’s hero Billy Childish. Explaing the video Tattersal says: “The Wave Pictures love a nice cup of tea before they rock out on stage. The pleasure the band take in a nice brew is perfectly captured in Oana Marian’s tour video. The song is a perfect expression of The Wave Pictures’ style, sounding as it does like The Go-Betweens with Rory Gallagher on lead guitar. The video shows what life on the road is like for one of today’s leading popular beat combos. No cats were harmed in the making of this video.” Watch below. Meanwhile the band kick off their UK tour on 4 February at Cambridge’s Portland Arms.
