DJ Shadow Announces Tour Behind Brand New Album 'Action Adventure'

DJ Shadow has formally announced a slew of upcoming dates in support of his new release Action Adventure, which dropped Oct. 27. The shows begin in January at The House of Blues in San Diego and end March 28 in Dublin, Ireland at The Academy.

Constructed as a nearly all-instrumental journey, Shadow released the first track "Ozone Scraper" a peppy non-verbal spiritual cousin to Berlin's "The Metro," back in August, with an accompanying video shot in Uzbekistan by director Stefano Ottaviano, portrays a native motorcyclist riding zen-like across the landscape.

Shadow revealed to his Instagram followers, "I needed to get personal and make music for myself again. I didn’t want to compromise or write music to give someone else a runway, I wanted to force myself to permeate every available sonic space and 'own' the total composition."

As such, there as no guest stars on Action Adventure and as Shadow noted, he challenged himself to "write music that flexed different energies."
