Cradle of Filth's 14th studio album is currently in the works, but won't be released for quite some time. In a recent interview, Dani Filth confirmed the LP will include a collaboration track with chart-topping pop artist Ed Sheeran.
"People have heard it and loved it," the frontman said of the collaboration track during a conversation with Pełna Kulturka uploaded on Jan. 14.

"It is what you imagine. It's Cradle of Filth and it's Ed Sheeran. It sounds like Ed Sheeran, it sounds like Cradle of Filth. There's a blast beat in it."
Filth said he expects the first single to come out this fall, but it's not clear if that will be the track featuring Sheeran. The singer added that fans should expect to hear something new on the upcoming LP.
"I think it's gonna surprise a lot of people," he said. "But it doesn't necessarily mean the album is commercial. It's a very heavy record. We just upped the game as a band. We moved one step further toward the future from our previous record."
The vocalist said scheduling conflicts are why the album is taking longer than expected to produce.
"We started back in July, but we've been so busy," he said. "We've done loads of summer festivals and we had our annual break for holidays for everybody."
The music itself is done, but Filth said he spent much of last year popping in and out of the studio as he tries to finalize the vocals.
"Then the producer had a baby," the singer added. "So we haven't actually been back since November."
It will be included on Cradle of Filth's upcoming 14th studio album.
Filth and Sheeran both have roots in Suffolk, a region about 90 miles northeast of London.
"I’ve spoken to him very regularly over the last two years," Filth said. "Like me, he’s a real Suffolk boy. When he came to the studio that day, he didn’t come down with a cavalcade of reporters. He turned up on his own, guitar on his back, Cradle of Filth hoodie on, and got on with it."
Sheeran has also performed alongside Bring Me The Horizon and the Darkness.
Cradle of Filth hasn't released a new studio album since 2021's Existence Is Futile. The band founded in 1991 has never exactly been mainstream, but their albums have charted consistently over the decades – especially in Europe. Two of their records, 2003's Damnation and a Day and 2015's Hammer of the Witches peaked No. 44 on the U.K.'s official albums chart.
Sheeran, on the other hand, has several No. 1 hits under his belt including "Sing," "Shape of You" and "Perfect."
In 2022, the singer-songwriter collaborated with Bring Me The Horizon a remix of his chart-topping track "Bad Habits." He also opened for the Darkness at a concert last year.
