Hipgnosis, the design agency who created sleeves for the likes of Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, The Who and more have opened their archive for a new book.
Co-founder Aubrey Powell’s Hipgnosis Portraits, out now, tells the goes behind some of the world’s most iconic album covers via sketches, rare photographs and untold stories.

Divided into two sections, Imagination tells the story behind the artwork with a host of material taken from the agency’s archives, while Realisation, showcases a series of band portraits, including previously unseen images of Syd Barrett, Paul McCartney, Led Zeppelin and more.
