Taking advantage of the fact that their discography finds them commemorating two major album-release anniversaries during the course of 2024, Green Day has decided to embark on a stadium tour that provides them with the opportunity to celebrate both of those albums while also taking a couple of their contemporaries - plus a bonus up-and-coming band! - along for the ride.

In case you don't know Green Day's back catalog backwards and forwards, the albums the band will be celebrating are their 1994 mainstream breakthrough LP, Dookie, and their 2004 Broadway musical-inspiring effort, American Idiot. And as for the bands who'll be joining them, the two contemporaries are Smashing Pumpkins and Rancid, and the new kids on the block, so to speak, are The Linda Lindas, a four-piece punk-pop band out of Los Angeles, all of whom will still be in their teens when the tour kicks off. (The oldest of the bunch turns 20 on September 16.)

Lest we fail to give love to the UK and European portion of the tour, Green Day’s so-called Saviors tour – named after their upcoming new album, Saviors, just for the record – will find them supported by a different collective of acts: Nothing But Thieves, The Hives, Donots, The Interrupters, and Maid of Ace.

In fact, the tour actually kicks off on May 30 in Monte De Gozo, Spain, makes its way through France, Germany, and Italy, and then heads to the UK, closing things out with a date at Wembley Stadium on June 29. After taking a month off for good behavior, the North American portion of the tour begins on July 29 at Nationals Park in Washington, DC and eventually comes to a conclusion at San Diego’s Petco Park on September 28.
