Just weeks after releasing his chart-topping eighth album, For All the Dogs, Canadian rapper/singer Drake is once again setting the stage for another release, announcing the upcoming Scary Hours 3 via a moody Instagram video. The EP, a follow-up to 2021's Scary Hours 2 and 2018’s Scary Hours, is set to release at midnight on Nov. 17.
The short promo video ends with Drake taking a seat as the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, led by TSO music director Gustavo Gimeno, serenades him with the overture from Verdi's La Forza del Destino and a white-gloved attendant holds an invitation featuring the album title and what looks like a tracklist.
Scary Hours 3 Tonight at Midnight
Per the video, Drake composed the EP's tracks in five days, beginning after the release of Dogs, which the rapper had previously hinted would be his last release before taking a hiatus. As Drake notes in the video, he could "disappear for six months, a year, two years, even though I’m not super into the lengthy disappearances." The announcement comes a day after Drake delivered a music video for the J Cole feature "First Person Shooter," which is worth a watch for its take on office gaming (with a couple of sidesteps into cinema-style sci-fi, street drama and kernels of dog-related visual humor).

Drake is still on (with J Cole) for his 2024 It’s All a Blur Tour — Big As the What? set to start in Denver on Jan. 18.
