began this morning (29 July) – giving you the chance to shape this year’s shortlist.

You can nominate any act you like, as long as they’ve been releasing music or playing gigs this year – This year you can also register your support for your favourite bands by making a Q Awards Playlist.

All you have to do is pick a song for each of the categories – Q Best New Act presented by Xperia Access, Q Best Track presented by Absolute Radio, Q Best Album (just pick one song from the record), Q Best Solo Artist presented by Citroën, Q Best Live Act presented by The Cavern Club, Q Best Video and Q Best Act In The World Today – publish it via a streaming platform (eg: Spotify, Deezer, etc – who knows if enough of you stream the same songs, one of them might even make it into the lower reaches of the chart…) – and then tweet it to us using the hashtag #XperiaAccessQAwards or leave a link in the comments below. The Q team will have a listen and we will feature the best ones.

You’re free to vote and playlist whoever you like, but just to give you some musical food for thought, we asked the team here to create their Q Awards 2014 Playlists, so have a listen now (and don’t be swayed by the outpouring of love for Beck, Arctic Monkeys, etc, below… well, unless you agree).
