If the words “With Arms Wide Open” make your heart soar, then you’re probably the right demographic to be excited by this news: Creed is back.

No, not the movie, although just for the record, there is indeed a Creed IV in the works, and all things being equal, we’re probably more excited about that than we are about this news.

Yes, you guessed it when we dropped that song title in the opening sentence: singer Scott Stapp, guitarist Mark Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall, and drummer Scott Phillips have decided to continue the reunion they began in July 2023. Even better for their fans, they’ve announced that they’re going to embark next year on what they’re calling the “Summer of ‘99 Tour.”

It all started when Creed announced that they were going to be headlining two “Summer of ‘99” cruises, but when both cruises sold out in a decidedly rapid fashion – as dramatized in the band’s recent Instagram post, which can be seen below – they apparently decided that the time was right to do a proper reunion tour, one featuring a plethora of the band’s ‘90s rock peers.

The 40-date tour starts on July 17 in Green Bay, Wisconsin at the Resch Center and concludes on September 28 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, at the Hard Rock Hotel. Finger Eleven will open all dates on the tour, 3 Doors Down will serve as “direct support” (their choice of phrase) on the majority of the dates, and there will also be select dates which will include Big Wreck, Daughtry, Switchfoot, and Tonic.

Somewhere in the middle of the tour – on August 31, to be specific – Creed will be hosting the “Summer of ‘99 and Beyond Festival” in San Bernadino, California, where the line-up will consist of 3 Doors Down, Daughtry, Finger Eleven, Fuel, Vertical Horizon, and The Verve Pipe.
