Given the critical acclaim and commercial success that he received earlier this year with his “Live and In Person 2023” tour, it should come as no surprise to anyone that John Mellencamp has announced that he’ll be continuing the Storytellers-esque shows into next year.
As such, the appropriately-retitled “Live and In Person 2024” tour will be hitting 27 new cities during March and April.

During the course of the tour last year, Mellencamp was prone to offering some words of warning before the shows themselves, saying things like, “Things might get a little political,” “If you're going to yell during the quiet songs, you might as well leave,” and “This is not a concert, it’s a performance.”
In other words, the man speaks from the heart, he means what he says, and if you aren’t there to hear it or at least tolerate hearing it, then why are you bothering to attend in the first place?
Although the tour is ostensibly designed to serve as a spotlight for Mellencamp's latest studio album, Orpheus Descending, which hit record store shelves this past June, the set lists for this year's shows reveal that he's spending only a few songs on the new LP and instead spending the majority of the concerts offering up a plethora of hits and album tracks from throughout his back catalog. Not only is this exactly the sort of thing that his fans would want to hear, Mellencamp is also delivering the songs in both acoustic and electric sets, thereby upping the excitement level.
