Bushstock returns to London’s Shepherd’s Bush this weekend (18 June), staging a host of acts across venues in W12. To guide your through the line-up the festival’s booker Maz Tappuni has made us a playlist of some of his personal favourites from the bill.
Palace – Break The Silence
“We’ve been watching this band for a couple of years now. This reverb heavy track is a perfect example of a band developing with time. Getting us all excited about their headline show at Sindercombe Social.”
Shura – What’s It Gonna Be?
“It wouldn’t be right to have a party in Shepherd’s Bush without West London based Shura. She’s headlining our outdoor stage, and this new single is a brilliant 80s dance-pop jam.”
Albin Lee Meldau – Let Me Go
“It’s pretty simple really, the man has one hell of a voice. Oh, and a very impressive live performance.”
“If you like gospel, blues, r’n’b, then you’ll dig Seramic. The recent single Found sounds a little crazy in parts. Just what I like.”
Bear’s Den – Auld Wives (pictured)
“The Den are back and they headline St Stephens Church at this year’s festival. Their new single is a little taster of what’s to come. 80s-inspired moments, a bit of The War On Drugs, and some big hooks. We don’t like, we love.”
Dan Croll – One Of Us
“More vibrant indie-pop from a brilliant songwriter who will be headlining Bush Hall at the festival.”
Vant – Fly By Alien
“They play guitars, they make a lot of noise, they sound cool and fierce.”
Joseph J Jones – The Video
“The latest signing to Communion Records, a big soulful voice and an impressive presence on stage.”
Gill Banks – Anxious?
“Raucous, post-rock math riffs. There’s even a bit of Radiohead in there.”
The Big Moon – Cupid E
One of the most exciting bands around at the moment. Big rock songs from the female four-piece. Big love for The Big Moon.
