Manic Street Preachers have spoken to Q about the Glastonbury Festival – and you can listen to our interview below now.
Getting ready for the event this weekend (27-29 June) where the band play the Other Stage on Saturday evening, Nicky Wire recalled the band’s infamous gig on the same stage at the festival in 1994, when they threatened to build a by-pass over Worthy Farm. He also discusses the impact of the sound men mistaking Richey Edwards for the band’s lead guitarist during the same show.
Listen to the interview with Wire below now, including his true love for the festival, even if a practical joke about a private toilet did backfire a few years ago…
Q will be uploading more audio interviews like this throughout the festival, so keep an eye on Qthemusic.com and our dedicated Audioboo channel throughout the event.
