Spring King released their debut album Tell Me If You Like To last week, and now have plans to tour, tour and tour some more. The group’s Tarek Musa granted us a royal audience.
WHO would play you in the film of your life?
Bill Murray. He always seems to get himself into the weirdest situations, something I can relate to. He always plays the slightly odd guy in movies, happy nonetheless.
WHAT are you currently working on?
I’m currently trying to learn jazz drums. It’s always been something I wanted to get into but I’ve never had much time to focus on it. I feel like it would open a lot of doors creatively in the way I play rock drums, or so I think…
WHY do you do that thing you do?
Because it makes me happy when I’m in the studio or performing. I’ve been making music since I was a kid, I don’t think I can do anything else and enjoy it the way I enjoy music.
WHERE do you see yourself in ten years?
I’d like to say in my beachside studio, or somewhere with a home studio and good weather. I’m not very good with winters. I hope I’ll be making music just as much as I do now if not more, collaborating with other artists.
WHEN will there be a harvest for the world?
Not in my lifetime that’s for sure… there’s a lot of good in the world but it’s a never ending battle between good and evil. I don’t think it will ever change whilst I’m alive.
