The third single from the band’s Songs Of Innocence album is released on Monday (13 July) and is accompanied by a seven-and-a-half minute short film, which is streaming below.
Starring Woody Harrelson, the video directed by Vincent Haycock follows a man just released from prison after a serving a long sentence. It also features Harrelson’s daughter, Zoe.
“Vincent Haycock’s vision and Woody and Zoe Harrelson’s performances didn’t just complement Song For Someone — they completed it,” the band say of the film.
“We could never have envisioned the new dimension this beautiful story would give our song, and we thank everyone involved for their part in fully bringing Song For Someone to life.”
The film is the second long-form video from the album (aside from the visual Films Of Innocence release) and follows director Aoife McArdle‘s 13 minute film for Every Breaking Wave which addressed relationships within Northern Ireland.
