Tanita Tikaram is set to return with a new album, Closer To The People, next year and Q is premiering the first track from it.

“I’ve listened to many soul records and singers from a very young age and it has shaped me as a songwriter,” she says of the feel of the new track.
“I don’t have a soul voice but I hope the song and the sound of the record shows the deep love I have for that music. the director, Natacha Horn, wanted to shoot in black and white to create a cinematic atmosphere to follow the slow groove. It’s all about a passion gone wrong. Enjoy!”
