Greek-born, New York-dwelling singer-songwriter Monika has just released new album Secret In The Dark – and Q has the premiere of the video for her latest single.
Here is the clip for Babyboy, directed by Spyros Dahlias, which explains that the concept of a “journey” was the key idea behind the short film film.
“I immediately knew that it had to be about a journey,” he tells Q, “exactly like Monika’s journey from Athens to New York. But, this time why not embarking on a galactic one? We wanted the video to be a sci-fi dream, to feel dark and mysterious like an old James Bond title sequence and have many many Monikas in it. She’s multiplying and trying to find her Babyboy. She never reaches him at the end, but again it’s all about the trip.”
