As the British music festival season finally comes into reach, a further string of additions to the line-up for this year’s Reading & Leeds Festivals have been announced. Lead by Alt-J, Palma Violets and Drenge, while the likes of The Gaslight Anthem, Charli XCX and many more have also been announced to perform across the August bank holiday weekend. Meanwhile Palma Violets, currently preparing for the release of their second album, have unveiled a new, Don Letts-directed video for single English Tongue, starring Game Of Thrones actor (and former Dennis Pennis) Paul Kaye.
It’s no secret that rapper Jay Z is quite the businessman. Following the rise in popularity of internet streaming services, the artist reportedly bought Tidal for a staggering $56 million, and now it’s claimed the rapper is set to release a joint album with his wife – Beyoncé – exclusively through the streaming service. Here’s a reminder of the pair’s most recent recording.
Following last Saturday’s Record Store Day (18 April), Johnny Marr – who released a cover of Depeche Mode I Feel You on the day – has taken to Twitter to express his dismay at the “eBay tossers” who are now selling on copies of the exclusive release. He’s also pledged an aim to release a further run of singles especially for those real fans that missed out.

In the lead up to the release of their forthcoming new album – Boys – Crocodiles have, this week, unveiled a brand new video for new single Foolin’ Around. Inspired heavily by Charles M Schulz’s classic Peanuts cartoon strip, the band’s animated clip depicts grown-up versions of characters Charlie Brown and Linus Van Pelt, presented through the band’s strange, twisted filter, to accompany the insouciantly cool lo-fi recording.
