A unique – somewhat unheralded – singer-songwriter, Gavin Clark unexpected passed away aged 46 earlier this year.
A collaborator with UNKLE and the force of nature behind much-loved bands Sunhouse and Clayhill, Clark – who most recently was heard covering The Smith’s Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What for Shane Medows’ This Is England the movie, while his songs have appeared in the series version – had been working on a new project before his death.
Collaborating with fellow men from UNKLE, Pablo Clements and James Griffith (both also in TOYDRUM), Evangelist was to be a concept album about a flawed preacher, which the pair have decided to complete as a tribute to Clark.
Q can now presenta new track from the record, Never Feel This Young, which features composer Ludovico Eunaldi and Gavin’s son, Michael Clark.
The full album will be released on 11 December, and features among others a contribution from The Bad Seeds’ Warren Ellis.
