This year’s fancy dress theme for Bestival (4-7 September) is “Desert Island Disco”. To get in the mood, we’re indulging our inner – if slightly glitter tinged – Radio 4 and getting a host of the act’s Desert Island Disco Discs. This week it’s London Grammar.
David Crosby – Triad
There is a live version of this track on Crosby, Stills and Nash album called 4-Way Street. It is a wonderfully gentle song, and this recording is particularly beautiful.
Nick Mulvey – Meet Me there
We are all listening to his music at the moment and this newest track is brilliant. It would sound good on a desert island.
The Tymes – Are You Lookin’
Our tour manager played this constantly during our tour in America. The refrain at the end of the song is amazing: Everybody’s under the same cloud/ if it rains on me it rains you. A brilliant lyric.
War on Drugs – An Ocean Between the Waves
It sounds like a modern Tom Petty. Another song we played constantly on tour recently.
Radiohead – Weird Fishes/ Arpeggi
We have all listened to this song endless times, and it never ever gets old. Its almost perfect.
NB Weird Fishes/ Arpeggi is currently unavailable
