Though they’ve achieved a lot in the past 12 months, including collaborations with chart toppers like Clean Bandit, production duo Gorgon City are probably a way off an invite from Radio 4‘s prestigious Desert Island Discs. Still not to worry, not only should new single Ready For Your Love (Ft MNEK) edge them a bit closer to their goal, but the pair knows what they’d play because they’ve actually DJed a party on a desert island (see below). It sounds a little like this…

Beastie Boys – Paul Revere

“The Beasties were one of the first groups we got into. Loved their energy and the combination of their three flows and sounds.”

“Absolute classic. Hard to believe this was made in 1989!”

Sunship – Try Me Out (Let Me Lick It…) (ft Anita Kelsey)

“Sunship have got the best two-step beats in the game – and the song arrangement of this one is insane. Bubblin’ dancefloor perfection!”

Wookie – What’s Going Down

“Another garage classic. Wookie/Exemen has so many big tunes in his back catalogue. This one’s instant party vibes when those pianos come in!”

Scorpio – Li Li

“Classic drum and bass from Roni Size & DJ Die’s Scorpio alias. This one’s got a fun party vibe to it. It reminds you of being a young teenager listening to old One Nation tape packs.”

Scuba – Adrenaline

“More of a 5am party track. We drop this modern classic sometimes if we’re playing an end of night DJ set and the crowd look like they’re up for getting euphoric.”

Tori Amos – Professional Widow (Armand Van Helden)

“We recently DJed at a beach party on a private island in the Bahama’s for the Holy Ship. we played before Armand Van Helden, and he played all his classics like this one. What a day that was! Can’t beat this music in the blazing sun.”
