Sometimes a minute pop song can say more than the longest love letter – well that’s certainly the view of Nina Nesbitt, so the singer-songwriter – who releases the Stay Out EP on 8 April – has compiled us this Valentine’s Day Playlist “Songs that say it better than a letter ever will” for all you romantics out there.
Bon Iver – re:stacks
“It’s my favourite song of his and is amazing live. I like to listen to this song whilst chilling out or while travelling at night.”
Kodaline – All I Want
“Very new on the scene, I heard this song whilst driving on tour on Fearne Cotton’s show. It blew me away instantly and I searched the song, then to find the really powerful video to accompany the song. Definitely one to keep an eye on.”
Mumford & Sons – Lover Of The Light
“Amazing song, I love the crescendo instrumental at the end. By the far the favourite song on Babel.”
Drake – Doing It Wrong
I like the lyrics of this song, it’s a lot more urban to my usual taste but it’s my favourite of his.”
Nirvana – Come As You Are
“I love Nirvana, they’re by far my favourite old band. This song is such a classic and one of my favourites.”
Bon Iver – I Can’t Make You Love Me
“There’s such emotion in this song when he sings it and I love the feeling that comes with it.”
Ben Howard – Black Flies
“My favourite song from his album, love the build and crescendo at the end of it. Nice to listen to on a night time journey.”
Daughter – Youth
“Love this song, very different to any other singer/songwriter. Beautiful voice too.”
Ray Lamontagne – Jolene
“One of the first songs I learnt on guitar and one of my favourites, I love the tone of Ray’s voice.”
