Sorting through the week’s new singles and songs that have surfaced online over the last seven days, Jamie Skey (@jamie_skey) presents five songs that have caught his ears this week…

Following up on punchy introductory singles Not Yet and Dippin’ Toes, Irish indie rockers Jet Setter return with full blown EP Never Had It So Good, a hazy collection of college rock a la Pavement or Dinosaur Jnr, typified by Archipelago.

Brighton riff experimenters Delta Sleep add an emotional heft to math-y grooves with new track Lake Sprinkle.

Sounding as soft and soothing as the summer sun, Yannina is a new single from Newcastle’s Jake Houlsby single, which proves pleasingly reminiscent of Fleet Foxes at their most disarming and peaceful.

The eminently search-engine friendly Curxes are readying themselves for the release of their debut LP – the equally Google-able Verxes – and have dropped a taster in the form of What You Want. With banging, acid-house-conjuring pulsations, it’s a dance floor-pummeling proof of the trio’s blitz-pop credentials.
