Mark Ronson has joked that his friends have threatened him over the success of Uptown Funk… because they’ve heard the song too many times!
The producer was winner of Q Hero at yesterday’s Q Awards In Association With Absolute Radio, and he spoke about the song in an exclusive backstage interview you can watch below now.
“My friends with kids have said to me, ‘If Olivia asks me to play that song one more time I’m going to leave shit on your door step!’,” says Ronson, though adds that Uptown Funk’s global success was no fluke.
“We had worked so hard at that point to get it where it was, it was six, seven months, none of us had worked on a record that hard [before],” he explains. “So we knew when it was done if it was good enough to satisfy all of us there was something special about it, but you never really know if people are going to dig it or not until it comes out.”
