Multi-venue Bushstock festival returns to London’s Shepherds Bush on 13 June, filling all corners of W12 (and beyond) with music for the day. Organised by the folk behind the Mumford & Sons-approved Communion Records and Communion Presents, Communion’s Maz Tappuni has made us a playlist of the acts on this year’s line-up who are following in the footsteps of George Ezra, Hozier, Bastille and Daughter and more, who have played the new talent showcase in previous years.
Villagers – Courage
“Villagers new album is intimate and soft, but also daring and bold. This track catches those different layers perfectly. I was lucky enough to catch the recent set at the Barbican and cannot wait to experience it again and share with everyone in Shepherds Bush.”
Lucy Rose – Our Eyes
“I’m really excited about Lucy’s new album and this first single is just a little taster of the fresh sounds to come!”
Port Isla – Alive
“We’ve loved these lads since we first heard Steamroller last year. You can look forward to an energetic, stadium-ready live set with great vocal harmonies. I think 2015 is going to be a fun one for them.”
All We Are – Stone (pictured)
“This album is on heavy rotation in the Communion office and it’s safe to say it already sounds like summer. Glittery guitars and layered reverb. Swoon.”
The Amazons – Junk Food Forever
“These guys are a young exciting anthemic guitar band. The set’s going to be loud and I love it.”
Nadine Shah – Fool
“We’re stoked to have been part of Nadine Shah’s journey for a little while now. Her live set promises to be as powerful and dramatic as the recent critically acclaimed album Fast Food.”
Banfi – Where We Part
“Joe Banfi signed to Communion Records a while back as a solo singer-songwriter, but decided to stop playing live. After spending some time in the studio working on a bunch of new tracks we’re very happy that under the new name and with a full band, Banfi, is back and sounding better than ever.”
Tora – Jaigantic
“We’re very lucky that the Byron Bay-based Tora could join us for Bushstock. Percussive, electronic pop at its best, with perfect falsetto vocals.”
Nathaniel Rateliff – Still Trying
“This is the Nathaniel Rateliff you may know already, but we’re very excited to welcome him to London with a neweight8 piece band The Night Sweats. It’s going to be all out raucousness, horns and full Denver soul. Cannot wait.”
Frances – Fire May Save You
“Frances joined our New Faces tour this Spring and left us a little spellbound to say the least. Her blend of classic songwriting and stunning voice is not to be missed at this year’s festival.”
