The Maccabees are playing a surprise show for Q in Brighton tomorrow night (16 May), we are very pleased to announce.
The band will take to the stage around midnight (BST) at the city’s Corn Exchange for a bonus gig that will bring this year’s Great Escape Festival to a close. The show will be open to festival wristband holders, with entrance on a first come, first served basis – entry to the venue begins at 11pm.

“We’ve played Great Escape more than any other festival,” explains The Maccabees‘ Felix White. “Although it’s been a while since we were last there as we’ve been away putting our new record together, so we’re really looking forward to being back, playing at the Corn Exchange this year. Thanks to Q Magazine for hosting us.”
The show will follow the action on this year’s previously announced Q Stage, which takes place at St George’s Church tomorrow too, and features sets from Bill Ryder Jones, Gaz Coombes, Jane Weaver and Soley. First band on at 7.30pm.
If you’re in Brighton for The Great Escape, we hope to see you in the pews… and then at the Corn Exchange for a late one.
