Illinois singer-songwriter Lissie releases her new album My Wild West on 12 February, plus kicks off a UK tour the next night at Oxford’s O2 Academy 2. She’s also answered five questions for us.
WHO would play you in the film of your life?
Saoirse Ronan is brilliant!
WHAT are you currently working on?
I’m heading back to Europe to do some shows. I’ll be playing with a new backing band so I’m just trying to keep up on my correspondence, plans for rehearsals, fitting in promo and making sure the shows go smoothly & are awesome!
WHY do you do that thing you do?
Ever since I was a little five year-old kid in group singing and dancing classes, my mom said that my eyes would shine so bright as soon as I got my turn to perform. Singing and sharing with people has always filled me with a lot of joy and purpose!
WHERE do you see yourself in ten years?
On my farm, working the land, gardening, planting trees, keeping bees and writing/recording songs in my barn. Hopefully I’ll have a partner and some little kids running around by then! And some animals too!
WHEN will there be a harvest for the world?
I’m not sure I understand this question? [laughs] But when people are able to spiritually evolve and stop seeing themselves as separate from one another & a threat to each other, I think we’ll really start seeing some change, peace, respect for the earth and global prosperity!
