Having swelled a little since their duo beginnings, Turin Brakes are returning with new album Lost Property early next year (29 January). Olly Knights from the band answers five questions for us.
WHO would play you in the film of your life?
In my younger days I’d like to say River Phoenix but unfortunately he’s no longer with us, so now let’s just say Larry David or maybe Jack Nicholson because he has more hair.
WHAT are you currently working on?
Apart from losing my pre tour beer gut, today we wrote a song with an up and coming artist called Cousin Marnie.
WHY do you do that thing you do?
Because they don’t make you take a test to be in your own band and you get to make it all up as you go along. Not a day goes by where I’m not eternally grateful that I lucked out like I did.
WHERE do you see yourself in ten years?
I don’t even know where I’ll be in five minutes but probably being a taxi service for my kids and trying to impress them about when I was on the telly.
WHEN will there be a harvest for the world?
When religion is taken less seriously, when governments stop throwing petrol on fires that burn their own people, when the climate change deniers find the flood waters lapping at their feet and when we turn the telescopes from the stars to within. If there’s a world left we might get a harvest but until then there’s always Harvester kids.
