Active Child – AKA Los Angeles resident Pat Grossi – has released new album Mercy this week. Here’s five questions with him.
WHO would play you in the film of your life?
Damien Lewis. I get recognized at least once a month in LA as “that guy from Homeland”. Although it’s hard to imagine him plucking a harp.
WHAT are you currently working on?
Expressing myself honestly whether it is through my music or just personally. Accepting criticism and trying not to be too sensitive. Also beginning to map out my next record which I plan on releasing in 2016.
WHY do you do that thing you do?
It helps me make sense of all those complex emotions we all struggle to understand. And that moment when you’ve created something from nothing is the most fulfilling feeling I know other than true love.
WHERE do you see yourself in ten years?
Somewhere in the countryside raising a family, working with my hands, writing music, maybe producing records for other people.
WHEN will there be a harvest for the world?
When we’ve removed all man made boundaries and evolved past our tribal instincts. My less idealistic side says probably never. We are an inherently selfish society that shows no accountability for our actions. But, maybe one day there will be a global tragedy that forces us all to come together. It seems the only time we come together is through hardship.
