With an EP, Plastic People, out on 25 May, London trio Yak kick off a tour with Superfood today (8 April) at Birmingham’s Rainbow, before playing their own dates at London’s St Moritz London at the end of the month (29 April). The band’s Oliver Burslem gets us better acquainted via five little questions.
Who would play you in the film of your life?
RADA’s janitor
What are you currently working on?
Multi tasking: I gotta scotch broth on the Aga and a bun in the oven, I’m doing Windows 95 in the lounge and polishing a French window in the granny annex.
Why do you do that thing you do?
To keep the pulse ticking and avoid having a job at all costs.
Where do you see yourself in ten years?
2025.
When will there be a harvest for the world?
Not sure, but you can probably find a Harvester on a bypass on the outskirts of town near a super hypermarket. Remember not to get trigger happy on the gravy boat (it’s all you can tip but you don’t wanna let it spoil your Bernard Mathews) and always aim for the yellow cake, it makes the restaurant smell beautiful.
