The Charlatans are set to return with their new album Modern Nature later this month (26 January) and frontman Tim Burgess has given Q an exclusive guide to the record.
Listen to the singer talking through each song on the album below, right now.
Not only discussing the impact of drummer Jon Brookes death on the band – including his contributions to some of the songs on the new record – Burgess explains how they regrouped to make Modern Nature.
Burgess also reveals the role played his “secret society” – including Sky Sports commentator and footballer Gary Neville and novelist Ian Rankin – in the album’s creation, how presenting a Q Award to Dionne Warwick inspired his lyrics and more.
