Ed Harcourt releases new single The Way That I Live – featured in a rather high end fashion ad with David Beckham’s son – this week (1 December). To mark the occasion he tried to tackle these five questions.
WHO would play you in the film of your life?
Brian Blessed of course! He’s loud yet tender, raucous yet reflective, barrel-chested but sensitive, annoying but lovable. And he likes badgers.
WHAT are you currently working on?
My French, German, Spanish & Italian. I’m on tour in Europe and I’m slightly embarassed that I talk in their languages like a blithering doofus. Other than that, I’m intermittently in the bunker with Flood preparing for the next upbeat opus.
WHY do you do that thing you do?
What thing? If it’s that ‘thing’ I didn’t do it. Oh that thing. Well a wise man once said ‘the something in the nothing is the everything’ . Or something.
WHERE do you see yourself in ten years?
In the middle of a deep, dark wood tripping over my very long white beard, wondering why I’m naked and being chased by wild dogs. No wait, working as Jeff Goldblum’s PA. No wait, crashing my 24 carat gold hovercraft into the Playboy mansion? No wait….
WHEN will there be a harvest for the world?
These questions are SO intense! I just don’t have all the answers! The pressure is too much. Does Q stand for Questions OR WHAT?! Goodbye!
