To get a sense of his latest musical foray we put five big questions to him.
WHO would play you in the film of your life?
I figure the best choice is probably Idris Elba. I mean if he can play an Englishman or a guy from the streets of Baltimore, he shouldn’t have much trouble playing an American Asian producer. Especially since he makes beats.
WHAT are you currently working on?
I have a new record coming out called Got A Girl with Mary Elizabeth Winstead. It will be out on 22 July. We have been working on various skits and products for the release. The products are more designed to improve your quality of life in case you’re curious. I’ve also started a new record which will reveal itself towards the end of this year.
WHY do you do that thing you do?
Probably because it was what I was meant to do. I’m not very good at math or sciences and I don’t want to work at a convenience store.
WHERE do you see yourself in ten years?
Hopefully still creating. The music business is in turmoil, but the people still love music as much as ever. Hopefully at that point, the edm/bass jam/rave thing will be over though.
WHEN will there be a harvest for the world?
Probably never if Monsanto has it’s way.
