Having just toured with St Vincent, head to South By Southwest in Texas this week. Before getting on the plane, we caught up with the band’s Dave Bayley (centre right) and asked him the only five questions that matter…
WHO would play you in the film of your life?
Probably Mos Def. Or Penelope Crus. Mos def would play Ed our bass player, they have a pretty similar outlook on life in general I think. And Penelope Cruz would be Drew. They both look after their hair really well, and liked Tom cruise for a while when they were younger.
WHAT are you currently working on?
It’s busy over here. We’ve been working on the live set a lot, rehearsing an that, gettting it ready for SXSW and the tour with St Vincent. That was killer! We’ve also been making some music with a rapper called Chester Watson, which has been neat, y’all should check him out.
WHY do you do that thing you do?
“Cuz sistas are doin it for themselves”
WHERE do you see yourself in ten years?
Big pimpin’ spendin cheese up in NYC (hopefully).
WHEN will there be a harvest for the world?
Don’t know about for the world, hopefully soon. Unless we’re talking about the harvest of souls, in which case hopefully not too soon, cause there’s some music we’ve got to write before the apocalypse proper. But it’s pretty great that they harvested the grammys this year. Nice one Isley Brothers.
