Foals frontman Yannis Philippakis says his band have a new confidence onstage, as the group picked up Best Live Act at Monday’s (21 October) Q Awards.
Marking a year that has seen them play the Royal Albert Hall and headline the Latitude Festival, the singer suggested that band now find playing gigs the most natural part of their lives.
“There’s a self confidence that was lacking before, because we were quite nuerotic,” he explained.
“But we killed the Woody Allen that we had in our heads and now we just feel confident onstage. In many ways I feel more confident onstage playing music than I do talking to you or when I’m out on the street… it’s become my home, so I feel good up there.”
