Stevie Nicks, already in the midst of whirling and twirling her flowing dresses across stages throughout the U.S., has announced that she'll be extending her tour beyond 2023 and taking it into seven additional cities in the early months of 2024.
Nicks' shows have consistently entertained fans of her solo work as well the many years she spent within the ranks of Fleetwood Mac, but she got a bonus boost back in June when Rhino/Atlantic released her Complete Studio Albums and Rarities box set, a 10-disc collection which contains all eight of Nicks' solo albums alongside a 2-disc collection of rare and hard-to-find tracks from throughout her solo career.
Nicks kicked off her solo career in 1981 with the release of her debut studio album, Bella Donna. The LP quickly made its way to the top of the Billboard 200, firmly establishing Nicks as someone who definitely did not need to be a member of Fleetwood Mac to shift massive amounts of music. That said, she's nonetheless spent a good chunk of her musical career in the band, having been in the group from 1975–1991, rejoining to participate in the Clinton inauguration performance, and then formally rejoining the band again in 1997. Since then, she's never left, although the band itself has certainly taken the occasional break during those years.
Recently, the acknowledgement by both Nicks and her former bandmate/boyfriend Lindsey Buckingham of the anniversary of their lone joint LP as Buckingham-Nicks caused rumors to swirl that the twosome might finally mend fences and work together again. This, of course, is the same sort of unfounded speculation that pops up constantly, but...come to think of it, it would be nice, wouldn't it? But no one's holding their breath, nor does anyone need to as long as Nicks continues to take to the road and deliver a plethora of Fleetwood Mac tracks along with classics from her own back catalog.
