With just under a month to go until this year’s Q Awards In Association With Absolute Radio, the 2015 shortlist was announced this evening (23 September) at a ceremony at the Sanctum Hotel in London.
Following the first phase of ‘open voting’, we have counted up all your votes and narrowed down the field as Q’s Editor-In-Chief Phil Alexander and Danielle Perry – host of Absolute Radio’s Sunday Night Music Club Featuring Q – revealed the nominees at tonight’s gathering.
Foals, Florence + The Machine, Ed Sheeran and Noel Gallagher‘s High Flying Birds lead the way with three nominations each, though the likes of Blur, Muse and The Libertines are not far behind with two nods each.
There’s also some choice match-ups thanks to your votes, with Taylor Swift going head-to-head with the man infamous for interrupted her at another awards, Kanye West, in the solo category, while some friendly “Battle Of Britpop” rivalries will be renewed in the hotly contested Best Act In The World Today category, as Blur rejoin battle with Mr Gallagher.
It’s up to you now to vote for who you want to win ahead of the 2015 Q Awards ceremony, which will take place on 19 October and will be hosted by Absolute Radio’s Christian O’Connell.
You can vote for each category in this year’s awards via Qthemusic.com now – plus everyone who votes will be entered into a draw to win two tickets to the ceremony – Here is the full list of nominees, make sure you cast your vote before 15 October.
