Marking Def Jam’s 30th Anniversary, deluxe editions of Public Enemy‘s albums It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back and Fear Of A Black Planet, have recently been released. As part of the celebrations the band’s producer and Bomb Squad member Hank Shocklee – who heads to Austin for South By South West this week – answers five little questions for us.

Jesus of Nazareth it’s only proper since he is my personal savior and mentor, my life has been dedicated to following his teachings. The ultimate rebel.
WHAT are you currently working on?
Creating a paradigm shift to a higher form of consciousness. Rallying the troops to balance the power in the universe through the ultimate disruptive force known to humankind: LOVE
WHY do you do that thing you do?
Because our multidimensional universe is alive and biased toward positive energy. You only have to let your light shine.
WHERE do you see yourself in ten years?
Witnessing the dawn of a new enlightenment for mankind, a complete transformation: no more wars and poverty. Our oppressors will be our greatest allies. Peace will be upon us.
WHEN will there be a harvest for the world?
We are truly blessed to be in the harvest now. Take stock and get involved. Wickedness is in its final chapter. Our time is here and now. Blessed be to the creator… The most high.
