Why now? As we revealed yesterday, after the action finishes on Q’s Great Escape Stage at St George’s Church in Brighton tonight (16 May) – Bill Ryder Jones and Gaz Coombes are among the acts playing, we have a bonus, surprise gig: The Maccabees will play the city’s Corn Exchange around midnight for festival goers (first come, first served – entry to the venue is from 11pm). Expect a preview you or two from their forthcoming fourth album, but in the meantime here’s an old favourite about a wave machine that might just make it into the set…
