Why now? Here’s the premiere of the video for Black Flag, taken from Beth Jeans Houghton’s new record Welcome Back To Milk which is released on 18 May under her new name Du Blonde. Shot at the Joshua Tree, the singer-songwriter directed and edited the clip herself “We filmed the footage in 40 degree heat while we played Beyonce out of the car stereo,” she explains. “A lot of the record is written about situations and people in Los Angeles so it made sense to incorporate the scenery in which a lot of those stories played out.” Du Blonde meanwhile tours the UK this summer, kicking off dates at Brighton’s Green Door Store on 3 June.
